Diego E. Garcia is an associate attorney at Carlson, Calladine & Peterson LLP, where he began as a summer associate. His practice includes Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith, Property Insurance, and General Business Litigation. He served as judicial extern for the Honorable Mary E. Wiss of the Superior Court of San Francisco, where he briefed the judge for hearings and trials in various practice areas, including breach of contract, medical malpractice, driving under the influence, and personal injury.

A fluent Spanish speaker, Mr. Garcia served as President of the Golden Gate University (GGU) International Law Society for two years. His outreach and engagement initiatives resulted in a 300% increase in the number of GGU law students participating in summer abroad programs in the following 12 months. He hosted forums on Careers in International Law and Space Law, as well as focus groups for GGU’s Paris Summer Abroad program.

While in law school Mr. Garcia spent a summer at Magdalen College, University of Oxford, studying English Legal Systems and Comparative Property Law. He was individually tutored by Professor Roger Smith, Emeritus Professor of Law at Magdalen College. At the end of the program Mr. Garcia submitted a paper entitled “The UK Net Zero Emissions Target in Politics and Practice,” and was selected to draft the executive summary covering the end-of-term symposium for the program sponsors.

Prior to law school Mr. Garcia was a professional musician who performed in Europe, the United States, and Mexico. A firm believer in civic and scholastic mentorship, Mr. Garcia continues to volunteer at his alma mater Justin-Siena High School. Additionally, he and fellow first-time bar passers participate in the GGU Graduate Mentorship Program, supporting and guiding students as they prepare for the California Bar Exam. Mr. Garcia is also a Member Brother of the Order of St. John, a global humanitarian charity encompassing the foundations of the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group and St. John Ambulance. Mr. Garcia is admitted to all California State Courts.
