Randy W. Gimple is one of the founding partners of Carlson, Calladine & Peterson LLP and works out of the San Francisco office. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving catastrophic fires, explosions, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, equipment failures, automobile accidents and other calamities. For exam- ple, Mr. Gimple has handled several large wildland fires, seven floods, three rocket-fuel explosions, a train derailment, a multiple-fatality gas pipeline explosion and hundreds of structure fires. Mr. Gimple’s defense clients include companies accused of negligence, breach of contract, professional malpractice and strict products liability. His plaintiff clients include commercial property insurers in subrogation, as well as their policyholders in the aerospace, semiconductor and heavy manufacturing sectors. He has an in-depth knowledge of forensic investigation techniques, the admissibility of technical and scientific evidence, tort liability, governmental liability, inverse condemnation, express and implied indemnity and the measure of complex business damages. Mr. Gimple has an A/V rating and is admitted to the California State Courts, all U.S. District Courts in California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a published author and speaker in matters involving catastrophic loss investigation, spoliation of evidence, multi-party litigation strategies and wildland fire litigation. He is also a member of the National Fire Protection Association, International Association of Arson Investigators and California Conference of Arson Investigators.
